I’m optimistically naming this as Part One in the hopes it will encourage me to do some more of these sketches in sepia. I did some sepia sketches using a dip pen and ink the other week, but came to the conclusion that as romantic as a dip pen is, a regular pen is much easier and far less stressful. This is me all over, practicality trumps romance every time.
As you can see, my attention span wandered a fair bit while I was working on this page and I was influenced by everything from what I was listening to at the time (the old BBC Radio adaptations of Sherlock Holmes), to what I had on my muffins that morning (Marmite, of course)! I’m pleased with the results though, apart from the first Swan Vesta sketch – I tried a new pen and didn’t take to it at all, so won’t be using that again.
These are all postcard (ish) size and will be appearing in my Etsy shop very soon.

I saw the most enormous jar of Marmite in Tesco the other day, and thought of you. Lovely sketches! x
