This week’s word was chosen by Sally over at Diario, and is very apt as she didn’t choose her word until Thursday! I’m a bit tardy in writing about the word, but that’s forgivable I think…
… or it would be if I could think of anything to write about – eek!
As I can’t think of anything specific I shall just waffle for a while. I’m generally not a late person: I arrive early for appointments, renew permits and licences early, and I’m an early riser too. This morning I had a late start to the day: getting up at 7am. That’s late for me, even though a lot of people (including my partner) would still consider it unfeasibly early for a Saturday.
I can’t honestly say I enjoyed rising later than usual. I felt more tired, and then I felt frustrated that there was less time in which to do things before I went out later this morning. On the other hand it did mean there was less of a gap between me getting up and Matt getting up, so our need for coffee pretty much coincided (I’m usually on my second cup by the time he’s awake at the weekend), which in turn led to me making a pot of proper coffee for the two of us (accompanied by banana, cinnamon and courgette cake… courtesy of my mother’s newest obsession).
So being tardy today worked out ok in the end, but I don’t think it suits me very much. Tomorrow I’ll be back to my early rising and I’m sure I’ll feel less out of sorts for it!
