Tiny tiled street art.  Spotted on the towpath at Little Venice, just as it goes under the road to become Paddington Basin (London, W2).

I do love looking at the narrow boats whenever I walk along the canal.  Most are painted in the traditional fashion, but last week a somewhat different style caught my eye.

A huge piece by CodeFC.  I wish I could have got a photo of the entire thing in one go, but as this is on the canal towpath (somewhere between Meanwhile Gardens and Ladbroke Grove) I would have needed to walk on water to get back far enough!  I’ve done what I can to piece together various photos into a panorama that covers most of it (click on the image to view a larger version).  This piece is very different in style to the other CodeFC art I blogged about last year (click here to view).

Quick sketch of the canal from the Ha’penny Steps, which I often cross while walking the dog.

And a couple of sketches from my jaunt to Portobello yesterday which included some hip hop Shakespeare (yes, you read that right!) and a leisurely lunch.  The Shakespeare is part of the In Transit festival which runs from 18th-27th July, click here to find out what else is going on.  All these are very rough and ready, but it’s so lovely to get back into the swing of sketch journalling!
